How do people become homeless?

Its a scary thought to think that some poeple go from living in a house one day to living on the street the next. Most people have a stable home with good resources but a small change in anything could easily throw that off balance. Some one might have a good job and be making enough money to support their family but they might get laid off or fired and not know what to do. They might not be able to get a new job and afford anything including their home so they end up on the streets. The two biggest things that lead to homelessness are, unaffordable housing and a loss of a job, illness or another major event effecting some ones life. I found all these facts here. Many people live off their paychecks with no money saved in the bank. And when something bad happens at their job, they have nothing to back them up. This is why most people become homeless.
